Alex Hungate

Alex Hungate is the Chief Operating Officer of Grab, with overall responsibility for Grab’s mobility, deliveries and financial services businesses, as well as Grab’s marketing and user support functions.

Alex was President and Chief Executive Officer of SATS from January 2014 to December 2021, after becoming a non-executive board director in July 2011.

Prior to that, Alex was the Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Singapore. He joined HSBC in 2007 as Group Managing Director of Personal Financial Services and Marketing, based in London.

Alex also served as the Managing Director, Asia Pacific for news and market data company Reuters, based in Hong Kong, and Co-Chief Executive Officer, Americas and Global Chief Marketing Officer for Reuters, based in New York.

He is currently a Board Member of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and a member of Singapore's Future Economy Council. He was an Independent Director of United Overseas Bank (UOB) Limited from July 2017 until December 2021.

Alex holds a Masters degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University and graduated as a Baker Scholar from the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at Harvard Business School.
