Hui Yang

Hui Yang is a Senior Engineering Manager at Grab, responsible for managing a team that develops search and recommendation components to enhance user experience and drive revenue. Hui leads initiatives in real-time machine learning features, search index construction with ElasticSearch, and the creation of observability tools for data-driven insights. Hui has grown the team from 3 to 8 members and has implemented agile methodologies. Prior experience includes roles at Expedia, where Hui built a distributed web system for hotel inventory data management, and at IBM, where Hui contributed to innovative data migration solutions during an internship. Hui holds a master's degree in Computer Science from UC Irvine and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
