Tia Calvin has experience in various roles within the field of marketing and communications. Tia is currently working at Grace Hill as a Digital Marketing Manager, where they oversee digital marketing initiatives. Prior to that, they were a Demand Generation Specialist at the same company. Tia also worked at Khoros as a Social Media Coordinator, managing social media channels and content.
In addition, Tia has experience as an Executive Assistant to the UNC Interim Chief Diversity Officer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In this role, they provided administrative support and contributed to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Tia also assisted with research, messaging, and external partnerships.
Before joining UNC, Tia was a Marketing Delegate at MeetEdgar, a tech startup. There, they focused on social media management and content creation, as well as affiliate lead generation and campaign execution. Tia's previous experience includes roles as a Social Media/Marketing Coordinator at the Black Student Union, Presidental Ambassador Council member at Lipscomb University, Social Media and Marketing Intern at Lipscomb University's SALT office, Publication Writer and Recurring Anchor at Lumination Network, Video Production Intern at Hope Community Church, and Videography Editing Intern at Venture Magazine in Okinawa, Japan.
Throughout their career, Tia has demonstrated skills in digital marketing, social media management, content creation, research, and event coordination. Tia is experienced in using various tools and platforms such as Zoom, Slack, Notion, Asana, and G-Suite.
Tia Calvin pursued their education in the field of media and communication. Tia obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs from Lipscomb University, where they studied from 2017 to 2020. Tia furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Media Management at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University from 2021 to 2022.
In addition to their degrees, Tia has also acquired various certifications that enhance their skill set. In February 2022, they obtained the Google Analytics Individual Qualification from Google Analytics. Tia also holds a Social Media Marketing Certification from HubSpot Academy, which they obtained in August 2021. Furthermore, they earned the Hootsuite Certified certification from Hootsuite in November 2017.
