Eric Emmons has a long and varied career in venture capital and consulting. Eric began their career in 2001 as an Associate at Commons Capital, LP. In 2002, they became a Consultant at L.E.K. Consulting. In 2004, they became General Partner of the Massachusetts Green Energy Fund, where they invested primarily in advanced materials, power control and conditioning software, and energy management and storage technologies. From 2008 to 2014, they were Investment Partner and Head U.S. of Siemens Venture Capital (now Next47). During this time, they made key investments in TOA Technologies and Managesoft. In 2014, they became Managing Partner of MassMutual Ventures, where they managed $200M of investment capital across two funds, with a focus on Series A to growth-stage software companies in North America, Europe, and Israel operating in the fintech, enterprise Saas, and cybersecurity sectors. In 2015, they became a Director of Limelight Health. In 2018, they became a Director of Gradient AI and Board Observer of Payfone. In 2019, they became a Board Observer of Picwell.

Eric Emmons attended Paideia School from 1988 to 1992, graduating with a High School degree. Eric then went on to Princeton University, graduating cum laude in 1996 with a BA in English. In 2001, Eric Emmons earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, specializing in Finance and Business Management.
