Rafael Chaves

Rafael Chaves is a Senior Software Engineer at Gradle Inc. since May 2022, contributing to the Gradle Build Team. Prior experience includes a tenure at Virtualmind as a Senior Software Engineer, and roles at CompilerWorks and Abstratt Technologies, where Rafael focused on software development and improving software build and deployment processes. Rafael also served as an independent software engineering consultant, offering expertise in performance, automation, and maintainability. Previous positions include senior software developer roles at GenoLogics Life Sciences Software Inc. and Sierra Systems, and software engineering at IBM, where Rafael contributed to the Eclipse platform and object-oriented design. Rafael holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, both from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, along with a Technician degree in Information Technology from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande.
