Brian Askey

Brian Askey is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the fields of chemistry and materials science. Currently serving as Raw Materials Manager at GrafTech International Ltd. since October 2018, Brian oversees the R&D Raw Materials team focused on testing and characterizing materials for graphite electrodes and advanced applications. Prior roles include Senior Research Scientist at GrafTech International, where research focused on needle coke and its precursors, and Product Development Scientist at Firestone Polymers, developing new polymer processes. Brian's earlier career includes positions as Project Scientist at GrafTech International, Organic Chemist Intern at GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals, and Laboratory Technician at the Center for Environmental Health Sciences. Brian served as an Aviation Electrician in the United States Navy, gaining valuable technical experience. Brian holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry/Biochemistry from the University of Montana.
