Senior Bioinformatics And Data Scientist at GRAIL

Geoff Stanley has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics and data science. Geoff currently holds the position of Senior Bioinformatics and Data Scientist at GRAIL since March 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Bioinformatics and Data Scientist at GRAIL from May 2021 to February 2023.

Before joining GRAIL, Geoff served as a Technical Consultant - Data Science and Bioinformatics at TRex Bio from November 2020 to May 2021. Geoff also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stanley Qi Lab from May 2020 to May 2021.

Geoff's earlier experiences include working as a Graduate Student at Quake Lab from January 2014 to November 2020, where they focused on using microfluidic and next-gen sequencing technology to study cell transcriptomes. Geoff also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stanford Bioengineering from October 2019 to April 2020.

Additionally, Geoff has worked in various research roles during their undergraduate years, including being an Undergraduate Researcher at David Kleinfeld Lab from January 2011 to August 2013, a Research Assistant at Marion Buckwalter Lab from June 2010 to September 2010, and an Undergraduate Researcher at Darwin Berg Lab from September 2010 to December 2010.

Geoff also gained experience as a Tutor at Science Bus from November 2013 to May 2014 and as a Rotation Student at Zev Bryant Lab from October 2013 to December 2013, where they focused on characterizing engineered myosins using optical trapping and force spectroscopy.

Geoff Stanley pursued their education in a chronological manner. Between 2009 and 2013, they attended UC San Diego where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics, graduating summa cum laude. Following this, from 2013 to 2019, they enrolled at Stanford University, specializing in Biophysics and obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. Additionally, in 2015, Geoff participated in a Physiology Summer Course at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
