Qinwen Liu

Qinwen Liu has extensive work experience in the field of bioinformatics and data science. Their most recent position was as an Associate Director of Bioinformatics and Data Science at GRAIL, where they started in October 2022. Prior to this role, Qinwen served as a Senior Staff Data Scientist from March 2022 to October 2022, and as a Staff Data Scientist from March 2020 to February 2022. They also held positions as a Senior Data Scientist from March 2018 to February 2020 and as a Data Scientist from July 2016 to February 2018, both at GRAIL.

Before joining GRAIL, Qinwen worked as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Centrillion Biosciences, Inc. from July 2015 to July 2016. They also worked as an NRSA Fellow at the University of Chicago from 2013 to 2015.

In addition to their industry and academic roles, Qinwen served as the President of the SASE UMD Chapter from 2011 to 2012. They also gained internship experience at Procter & Gamble in 2011 and at Beijing Kinghawk Pharmaceutical CO., LTD in 2006.

Prior to their internships, Qinwen served as a Research Intern at the National Institution of Biological Sciences, Beijing from 2006 to 2007. Their work experience demonstrates their expertise in bioinformatics, data science, and pharmaceuticals.

Qinwen Liu holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Genetics and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Maryland. Prior to that, Liu earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biotechnology from Beijing Normal University.
