Wayne Szeto

Wayne Szeto is currently serving as the Assistant General Counsel for Intellectual Property at GRAIL since March 2024. Prior to this role, Wayne held the position of Vice President of Intellectual Property at Graphite Bio from July 2021 to March 2024, and at Assembly Biosciences, Inc. from February 2019 to February 2021, overseeing IP related to microbiomes. Wayne also served as Vice President of Intellectual Property at Eat Just, Inc. and Amyris, Inc. from June 2016 to January 2019 and April 2011 to June 2016, respectively. Earlier experience includes roles as a Patent Attorney at Jones Day from October 2006 to March 2011, and interned at Affymetrix. Research experience includes positions as a Research Associate in Molecular Oncology at Genentech and Megabios Corp. / Valentis Biosciences. Wayne holds a JD from Santa Clara University School of Law, an MA in Biology, and a BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, both from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
