Kiran Rao

Kiran Rao is the current VP of Products and Strategy at Grainite. They have also held the title of Senior Director of Product Management and Strategy at VMware, and Director of Product Management at Dell. Before that, they worked as a Product/Applications Manager at Tensilica, Inc.

Rao has been focused on product management for over 15 years. They have experience with product strategy, development, and launch. They have also blogged about their experiences in the industry.

Rao’s experience with Horizon, a product they worked on while at VMware, involved heading the product management team and being responsible for its development in a multi-cloud environment. This included working with remoting protocols, 3D graphics, monitoring, analytics, intelligence, and clients across different platforms such as Windows, Linux, Mac, iOS, and Android.

At Dell, Rao was focused on product management for unified communications products. This included M&A and OEM partnerships.

Rao’s experience with Tensilica’s ConnX D2 DSP core family spanned three years and involved the development and launch of new products.
