Stephen Loss

Stephen Loss is an accomplished agricultural professional with extensive experience in research, development, and management. Currently serving as Manager and General Manager at the Grains Research and Development Corporation since 2015, Stephen focuses on agronomy, soils, nutrition, and stakeholder engagement. Previously, as Program Manager at GRDC, responsibilities included overseeing investments to improve Australian cropping systems. Prior to that, Stephen worked as a Project Manager at ICARDA, promoting conservation agriculture in northern Iraq, and spent over a decade as Services Manager at CSBP, managing soil and plant testing services. Beginning a career as a Research Scientist with the WA Department of Agriculture, Stephen conducted significant research in wheat and grain legume management. Stephen earned a PhD in Soil Science and Agronomy from The University of Western Australia.
