Dave Allanson

Dave Allanson has extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Dave is currently the Senior Director of Engineering at Gram Games, a position they have held since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Technical Director at Niantic, Inc. for a brief period in June 2022.

Before joining Niantic, Inc., Dave worked at NaturalMotion for several years. Dave held multiple roles at NaturalMotion, including Lead Engineer, Lead Gameplay Engineer, Senior Programmer, and Technical Producer. In their role as Technical Producer, they were responsible for supporting the lead programmer and production team in scheduling and planning the development timeline.

Dave also has experience working at Sumo Digital, where they served as a Lead Programmer and Producer. Dave worked on various projects, including the development of an internal IP called Scorched. Dave was involved in programming tasks such as camera systems, weapons, and audio implementation.

In addition to their work in the gaming industry, Dave also co-founded Albino Pixel Ltd, where they served as the Technical Director. Dave handled all the technical aspects of the company and was involved in the development of apps and games for Windows Phone 7, Android, and iOS.

Before co-founding Albino Pixel Ltd, Dave worked at PTK Learning as the Lead Programmer. Dave was the only programmer at the company and was responsible for suggesting and implementing a development structure. Dave developed demo applications using Unity and created iPhone games and applications using Cocos2d and Unity iPhone.

Earlier in their career, Dave held the position of Technical Director and CEO at 3rd Dimension Creations Ltd. Dave was responsible for managing the programming team and developing games for various platforms, including Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, Mobile, and PC.

Dave Allanson attended Middlesbrough College from 1999 to 2001. However, no degree name or field of study is provided for this period. From 2001 to 2004, Dave Allanson attended Teesside University, where they obtained a BSc degree in Computer Games Programming.
