Ian Blood

Ian Blood is a data scientist and analytical linguist at Grammarly since April 2022, previously serving at ETS from May 2014 to April 2022 as an assistant research engineer, focusing on developing language learning and feedback products using NLP and machine learning. Prior to this, Ian held positions in academia, including research project manager in NLP & speech and research associate at Seikei University, where English as a Foreign Language was taught, and a senior research assistant at ETS, contributing to studies on language learning and testing. Additional experience includes working as a teaching assistant at Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as teaching English to diverse age groups in various contexts, including NOVA Co. Ltd. Ian holds a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Teachers College and a Bachelor of Arts in French, African Languages, and Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
