Editor-in-Chief, Shift Left Academy at GrammaTech

Deb Radcliff has an extensive and diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity. In 1996, they began their career as a freelance writer and author, specializing in cybercrime and investigative reporting. During this time, they conducted research on the infamous hacker Kevin Mitnick, which was featured in a bestselling book. Deb went on to work for various publications, including Computerworld, Networkworld, Software Magazine, SCMagazine, Byte, and Forbes, where they continued to cover cybercrime and hacking.

In 2006, Radcliff joined the SANS Institute as the Editor-in-Chief of the SANS Analyst Program. Deb played a pivotal role in developing and expanding the program, overseeing the creation of white papers and webcasts on topics relevant to the cybersecurity community. Deb also helped security companies tailor their content offerings to align with community interests and successfully grew the program's infrastructure, revenues, content portfolio, and sponsor base.

Following their time at the SANS Institute, Radcliff founded their own cybersecurity consulting firm, DeRad Cybersecurity Consulting, in 2018. As the Chief Thought Leader, they continued their work as a writer, contributing articles to publications such as CSO Online and running their syndicated podcast series, the Cy Beat, on ITSP Magazine. Deb also became a respected author and speaker, frequently being interviewed by thought leaders in cybersecurity on both technical and non-technical platforms.

In 2021, Radcliff took on a role at GrammaTech as the Editor-in-Chief of the Shift Left Academy. In this position, they interviewed industry experts in the field of DevSecOps for the Shift Left Academy, a platform sponsored by GrammaTech and syndicated on Security Boulevard. Deb'sresponsibilities included researching and selecting topics, identifying sources to interview, and publishing video and written interviews to educate developers and their leaders about the risks associated with critical software components.

Radcliff's most recent role, starting in 2021, is as a Contributing Writer for CSO Online. Additionally, they served as a Strategic Advisor at CyberRisk Alliance, where they focused on growing the Business Intelligence Unit's custom survey-based research program.

Throughout their career, Radcliff has demonstrated a strong commitment to cybersecurity journalism and thought leadership, making significant contributions to the industry through their writing, interviewing, and consulting work.
