Granarium is reinventing power storage for a renewable, resilient, and mining-free energy future.

We develop next-generation supercapacitors made entirely from 100% renewable materials — nanocellulose, biocarbon, and water. Our technology delivers instant, high-power response to stabilize grids, protect critical operations, and enable reliable 24/7 energy availability.

Why Granarium?
Today’s grids are becoming increasingly volatile as solar and wind fluctuate rapidly. Traditional solutions—batteries, fossil-based backup systems, and mined-material capacitors—are too slow, too costly, or too damaging to the planet.

Granarium offers a new path:
🌱 100% renewable & mining-free materials
⚡ Instant power response (ms to minutes)
🔁 100,000+ cycles, fully recyclable
💸 Up to 80% lower production investment
🌍 Local, modular manufacturing anywhere in the world
♻️ 70–80% lower CO₂ footprint and biobased carbon-sink electrodes

Our breakthrough nanocellulose platform allows us to bind different biocarbons into high-performance power-storage structures — unlocking a simple, affordable, safe, and scalable alternative to conventional supercapacitors.

Use Cases
Grid balancing & renewable smoothing
Industrial peak-shaving and 24/7 operational reliability
Hybrid systems with batteries
Microgrids & distributed energy systems

Traction & Momentum
Granarium is spinning out from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland with granted patents, validated TRL5 technology, and strong industry interest.
We have LOIs/NDAs with reserve market operators, bioenergy producers, and electricity providers across Finland and Lithuania. Our first commercial pilots launch within six months of funding.

Our Mission
To enable local, responsible, and self-sufficient power storage at global scale — without mining, toxic materials, or high-emission manufacturing.

Funding
Granarium is currently raising a €1M Seed round, led by BSV Ventures, with the FiBAN syndicate participating.
