Amy Harmon

Field Institute Instructor/guide at Grand Canyon National Park

Amy Harmon currently serves as an Academic Program Coordinator at Northern Arizona University and has been a Field Institute Instructor/Guide as well as an Accounting Specialist at Grand Canyon Conservancy since November 2021. With extensive experience in guiding, Amy Harmon has been a River & Hiking Guide for Canyon Explorations/Expeditions since September 2011, conducting backcountry rafting and hiking trips in the Grand Canyon while educating clients on the area's ecology and history. Previous roles include Environmental Citizen Scientist for the USGS - Southwest Biological Science Center, where data collection and sample processing were central tasks from May 2013 to September 2019, and River Guide positions with Western River Expeditions and Wilderness Aware Rafting. Amy Harmon holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology focused on Environmental Biology & Ecology and a Bachelor of Arts in Environment & Sustainability with an emphasis on Water Policy from Western Colorado University.
