Maris Myers has a long and varied work experience. In 2020, they began working as a Shipt Shopper and a CLS Worker for Health Care, contracted by Health West. In 2017, they worked as a Patron Services Manager for the Grand Rapids Symphony, a Ticket Sales Representative for startickets.com, a Client Services Representative for Startickets, and an Agewell cafeteria cook and wait staff for AgeWell Services of West Michigan. In 2016, they worked as an Office Coordinator for Witt Buick and a Clerk extradonar for Meyer Music. Finally, they have worked as a Front of House and Ticket Office Manager for both Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts and Frauenthal Theater for the Performing Arts since 1997 and 1986, respectively. In these roles, they were responsible for concession and beverage services, inventory, overseeing the marquee, liaising with volunteers, budget control, contracts, ticketing systems, settlements, reports with promoters, sales, scheduling, contractual agreements, and prologue reporting.

Maris Myers obtained a High School diploma from Westview High School in Kankakee, IL in 1981. From 1981 to 1985, they attended Olivet Nazarene University and studied Music. In 1984, they obtained a Piano proficiency certification from Olivet Nazarene College. In 2000, they obtained a Safe Serv certification from Muskegon County, Michigan. Maris also attended Davenport University, where they studied Business Administration and Management, General.
