Gayan Herath, PMP, P.E.

Gayan Herath, PMP, P.E., has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Gayan is currently working at Grand River Dam Authority as a Senior Project Manager in T&D Engineering, a position they have held since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Project Manager in T&D Engineering at the same company starting from January 2020.

Before joining Grand River Dam Authority, Gayan served as a Civil/Transmission Line Engineer at the company from May 2015 onwards. Alongside their professional career, Gayan also worked as an Adjunct Professor and later as a Professor in Civil Engineering at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology - Okmulgee from 2010 to 2015.

Gayan began their engineering career at Building & Earth in 2008 as a Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineer, where they worked until March 2010. Gayan also gained experience as an Engineering Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant at Oklahoma State University from January 2007 to August 2008.

Prior to pursuing their career in the United States, Gayan worked as a Civil Structural Engineer at Industrial Services Bureau - Hydro Power from April 2005 to January 2007 and as a Civil/Structural Engineer at Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau from August 2004 to April 2005.

Throughout their career, Gayan Herath has demonstrated expertise in project management, T&D engineering, civil engineering, and structural engineering. Their extensive experience and diverse skill set make him a valuable asset in any organization.

Gayan Herath, PMP, P.E. holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University, which was attained between 2006 and 2008. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Peradeniya from 1999 to 2004. In addition to their academic achievements, Gayan Herath also possesses the Professional Engineer certification from the State of Oklahoma and the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
