Medical Director - Waterloo Wellington Stroke Program at Grand River Hospital

Stephen Giilck, MD, MSc, FRCPC has worked at McMaster University since 2012, where they have held various roles including Regional Education Lead for UG Internal Medicine, Clinical Skills Preceptor, and Resident Physician. Stephen has also worked at Grand River Hospital since 2014, serving as the Medical Director for the Waterloo Wellington Stroke Program, a General Internist, and a member of the CTU Steering Committee. Additionally, they are a Board Member at Sapphire Digital Health Solutions Inc since 2016.

Stephen Gillick, MD, MSc, FRCPC has a diverse education history. Stephen obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo in 2007. Stephen then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from the University of Guelph in 2008. In 2012, they completed their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at the University of Toronto. Following that, they undertook an Internal Medicine Residency Program at McMaster University from 2012 to 2015. Stephen further expanded their expertise through an Internal Medicine Fellowship at McMaster University from 2015 to 2016. In terms of certifications, they obtained the Licenciate of the Medical Council of Canada in 2013 and achieved Health Canada Division 5 - Drugs For Clinical Trials Involving Human Subjects certification from the CITI Program in 2020. Additionally, they hold the Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
