Jack Butcher

Jack Butcher serves as President at Hagerty. His is primarily responsible for the firm's global risk and insurance businesses.

Prior to joining Hagerty, Jack’s over 30 year career includes executive-level leadership positions in the insurance and commercial transportation industries. As a Managing Director at Marsh & McLennan (Marsh, Inc and Marsh & McLennan Agency, LLC,) Jack led a number of businesses in Baltimore, Washington, DC, New York and Chicago through growth and operational performance improvements, including increased employee engagement and client retention. In his role as Executive Vice President & COO at TransForce in Alexandria, VA, he and his partner led this emerging-growth company through a period of early-stage capital raises and business growth. Today, TransForce Group is a leading provider of education, employment and safety solutions to motors carriers across the US and Canada.

Jack has been operationally or financially involved in early-stage companies, serving as an investor, advisor or board member, since 1998. He has also served on U.S. Broker Advisory Boards of several top international insurance companies. In addition to his for-profit advisory work, Jack serves on several not-for-profit boards.

Jack is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Richmond, and has attended executive education programs at the Harvard Business School. A life-long member of the fire-rescue service, Jack also actively serves his local community as a first responder. He is currently a resident of Connecticut.
