Michael W. O'Connor has extensive experience in the real estate and commercial mortgage loan industry. Michael W. has held various senior roles throughout their career.

From September 2020 to present, they have been serving as the Vice President - Senior Portfolio Manager at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital. In this role, they manage a $500MM portfolio of highly structured commercial mortgage loans.

From 2016 to 2020, O'Connor worked as the Group Vice President - Investor Services at Cohen Financial, a Division of SunTrust Bank. Here, they managed a team of asset managers and analysts, overseeing over 2,500 commercial real estate loans totaling $30B for private equity clients. Michael W. also supervised the Non-Performing and Special Service loan portfolios.

Prior to that, from 2011 to 2016, they worked at Urban Partnership Bank as the Director of Portfolio Management. In this role, they managed a team responsible for the portfolio management of over 1,000 commercial real estate loans. Michael W. also originated and implemented policies and procedures for the Portfolio Management Department.

From 2007 to 2010, O'Connor served as the Director - Credit at Dexia Real Estate Capital Markets, where they managed an underwriting team and a portfolio management team. Michael W. oversaw Dexia's CMBS loan program as well as their construction, bridge, and portfolio loans.

Michael W. began their career at JP Morgan in 2001 as a Vice President, where they gained extensive experience in underwriting various types of loans and collaborating with the lending department to structure loan opportunities.

Michael W. O'Connor received their B.S. in Finance/Real Estate from the Gies College of Business - University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1991. Michael W. later pursued an MBA with a focus on Finance, Economics, and Strategic Management at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, graduating in 1999.
