Ben de Waal Malefyt

Ben de Waal Malefyt is an experienced educator and coach with a background in sports management and physical education. Currently serving as the Girls Varsity Basketball Coach and High School PE Teacher at Grandville Calvin Christian Schools since January 2018, Malefyt also maintains a role as a Groundskeeper at Railside Golf since May 2013. Malefyt has held various coaching positions, including Head Men's JV Basketball Coach and Assistant Basketball Coach at Calvin College, where responsibilities included developing training programs and recruiting athletes. Malefyt's early career involved coaching at East Grand Rapids Middle School and working as a custodian at Eastern Christian Schools. Malefyt holds a Master's degree in Sport Management from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor of Education in Health and Physical Education/Fitness from Calvin University.
