Joe McCoy

Joe McCoy has over 20 years of work experience in various IT roles. Joe started their career as a Motorcycle Mechanic at All American Honda-Suzuki in 1990. From 1992 to 1994, they worked as a Consultant for TRM Computers. Joe then transitioned to the role of Systems Administrator at ComericA Bank, where they provided onsite and remote support for Novell Netware 3.1x networks and clients. In 1996, they joined ACS Wireless as a Windows Systems Administrator, responsible for administration and support of Windows NT and Netware 4.x servers. Joe continued their career at Xtend Technologies and Lam Research as a Senior Windows Systems Administrator before joining Navisite in 1999. At Navisite, they served as a Senior Windows Customer Service Engineer, providing customer support for various technical issues. In 2003, Joe joined Netflix as a Senior Windows Systems Administrator, where they administered Netflix's multi-domain Active Directory infrastructure. Joe then joined Complete Genomics Inc. in 2009 as a Senior Windows Systems Administrator, managing corporate and production Windows 2008 R2 domains and servers. Currently, Joe is working at Granite Construction as a Server and Storage Team Lead/Senior Infrastructure Engineer, responsible for configuring and managing VMware environments, O365 hosted mail, and Mimecast for mail security.

Joe McCoy attended MMI Tech Institute from 1989 to 1990. In 1985, they started attending Cabrillo College, where they studied various subjects including math, computer workshops, creative writing, aeronautics, ground school, and airframe/powerplants until 1987.
