Grant Park Music Festival
Andrew Anderson is an accomplished bass musician with extensive experience in various prestigious organizations. Since September 2004, Andrew has served as an Orchestra Musician in the bass section at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, while also performing as a bassist for the Grant Park Music Festival. Andrew's educational background includes a Doctoral Teaching Fellowship in Music Performance from the University of North Texas, a Master's degree from Indiana University Bloomington, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. In addition to performance, Andrew contributes to music education as a Guest Lecturer at Wheaton College, Bass Faculty at Roosevelt University, Chamber Music Coach for the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra, and Bass Section Coach for the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras. Andrew also engages in freelance work with The Joffrey Ballet and has served as a substitute bassist for Music of the Baroque, contributing to a diverse and rich musical career.

Grant Park Music Festival
For nearly 90 years, the Grant Park Music Festival has been Chicago’s summer musical sensation, demonstrating that classical music performed by a world-class orchestra and chorus can have a transformative impact on the city. Showcased in the city’s most spectacular setting, the Festival continues to be the summer gathering place for all of Chicago. The Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park is the official home of the Grant Park Music Festival, with free seats available for every concert. The Festival is led by Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Carlos Kalmar, along with Grant Park Chorus Director Christopher Bell, Grant Park Orchestral Association President and CEO Paul Winberg, and Board Chair Adam Grais.
