Jarlath O'Keefe

Jarlath joined Grant Thornton in 2014 and is the head of Indirect Tax within Grant Thornton’s Tax team in Ireland. Prior to this he spent 16 years (7 as Partner) in the VAT department of a Big Four firm.

He has experience in a broad range of Indirect taxes and specialises in VAT. His particular specialisms include financial services, telecommunications, the not for profit sector and the VAT treatment of international services. He has regularly represented businesses in negotiations with both the Irish and UK Tax authorities.

Jarlath has over 20 years’ experience advising clients in respect of due diligence work, merger and acquisition transactions and VAT efficient supply chain management programmes. His portfolio includes Irish and overseas listed multinationals together with large and medium sized Irish companies He has advised clients with limited VAT recovery on how best to manage VAT risks and opportunities.
