Michael Shelley

Michael is a partner in the Audit and Assurance team. He was previously a partner in RSM Farrell Grant Sparks which merged with Grant Thornton.

He has extensive experience in delivering and coordinating audits of large domestic and international groups. He is responsible for a large portfolio of audit clients, providing audit and advisory services to SMEs and larger corporations.

His main area of expertise is in the start-up of indigenous and multinational technology clients. He has significant experience in areas of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and US Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS). In addition, Michael manages a large aircraft leasing portfolio and possesses significant industry knowledge and experience in the sector.

Michael has made numerous presentations to finance professionals and industry groups in the areas of Irish/UK GAAP, IFRS and Irish company law. He has also written extensively on Irish company law issues.

Michael leads Grant Thornton Ireland’s Technology sector group.
