Sam Higginson

Sam Higginson is an experienced finance professional currently serving as Honorary Treasurer for the Alpine Club since January 2024, overseeing the club’s assets and operations. Since August 2012, Sam has held various roles at Grant Thornton UK LLP, progressing from an Associate to a Restructuring Manager, where responsibilities include advisory and insolvency engagements, with notable involvement in the Administration of Greensill Capital. Additional roles include First Mate on the RV Silurian for the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust, and a seasonal Holiday and Logistics Coordinator with UCPA. Sam holds a Master of Science in Professional Accountancy from UCL, along with ACCA and AAT qualifications, and previous sales experience at the Cambridge Sony Center.
