Deborah Thomas

Deborah Thomas has extensive experience in the field of education and leadership within professional organizations. Currently serving as Past President of the Ohio Council of Teachers of English Language Arts (OCTELA) since March 2015, Deborah previously held the position of President from March 2014 to March 2015. As a dedicated educator, Deborah has been teaching at Granville Exempted Village Schools since 1999 and served as a teacher for grades K, 3, and 4 at the Licking Valley School District from 1979 to 1986. Deborah also contributed to academic growth as an adjunct professor at Ashland University from 2005 to January 2012. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University, a Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University, and ongoing studies for a Gifted and Talented Endorsement at the University of Cincinnati.
