Vanessa Soros

Vice President, Protein Sciences at Graphite Bio

Vanessa Soros has extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Vanessa is currently serving as the Vice President of Protein Sciences at Graphite Bio, a position they have held since July 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at Tizona Therapeutics, Inc., including Senior Director of Antibody Development and Engineering from January 2021 to July 2021. Vanessa also served as Director of Antibody Discovery from October 2019 to December 2020, Associate Director of Antibody Discovery from September 2017 to November 2019, and Senior Principal Scientist from January 2016 to August 2017.

Before joining Tizona Therapeutics, Vanessa worked at Catalyst Biosciences as a Senior Scientist from March 2012 to January 2016, and as a Staff Scientist from March 2010 to March 2012. Vanessa also gained experience at Sea Lane Biotechnologies as a Scientist from June 2007 to March 2010.

Vanessa began their career at The J. David Gladstone Institutes, UCSF, where they served as the Virology Group Leader from January 2005 to May 2007. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Gladstone Institute of Virology and Immunology and the University of California, San Francisco from 2002 to 2007.

Vanessa Soros completed their undergraduate education from 1991 to 1995 at the University of Toronto - University College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Genetics and Microbiology. Vanessa then moved on to pursue a Ph.D. in Molecular and Medical Genetics at the University of Toronto. Unfortunately, the specific start and end years for their Ph.D. program were not provided.
