Shaun King

Shaun King is a prominent social justice advocate and journalist, currently serving as the Founder and Executive Director of the Grassroots Law Project since May 2020, and the CEO of The North Star, a publication dedicated to liberation journalism, since November 2018. With a history of impactful commentary and writing on social justice issues, Shaun has contributed as a Contributing Editor for Newsweek and as a Senior Justice Writer for the New York Daily News. Shaun's previous roles include columnist at The Intercept, Social Justice Commentator on the Tom Joyner Morning Show, and Writer-in-Residence at Harvard Law School. As an author, Shaun published "The Power of 100!" in 2014, which emphasizes overcoming adversity. Shaun co-founded Upfront Media Group, which focuses on building online communities for artists and leaders, and holds a BA in History from Morehouse College and a Master's degree in History from Arizona State University.
