Spencer Schimel has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the field of product design. Spencer is currently working as a Product Design Lead at Grata since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Product Design Lead at BrightHire from March 2021 to September 2022.
Spencer was the Product Design Lead and Founding Designer at Limelight, an incubated startup, from August 2020 to February 2021. Limelight aimed to provide a better solution for hiring and job searching for skilled trade workers, serving customers nationwide before running out of funding.
Before their role at Limelight, they were the Lead Product Designer and Founding Designer at Visor from April 2018 to August 2020. Spencer also had experience as a Lead Product Designer at Blink Health from February 2017 to April 2018, where they contributed to user experience and visual design and established an efficient design process.
Spencer worked as a Senior Product Designer at Skillshare from January 2016 to March 2017, leading UX/UI projects and managing a junior designer. Prior to that, they served as a Product Designer at Skillshare from April 2014 to January 2016.
Spencer started their career as a Product Designer at Artsy Inc. from September 2012 to April 2014. Spencer led the design of Artsy's partner tools for galleries and museums, focusing on user research, UX, and UI.
During their time at R/GA, they worked as a Senior UX Designer, Mobile, primarily working on Nike+ Running app for iOS and Android. Spencer held the role from December 2011 to September 2012. Spencer also served as a UX Designer and Associate UX Designer at R/GA from December 2010 to December 2011 and October 2009 to December 2010, respectively.
