Stephen Klugherz

Stephen Klugherz has a diverse range of work experience spanning over two decades. Stephen is currently the Director of Platform Engineering at Gravie, a position they have held since December 2023. Prior to this, Stephen served as the Vice President of Engineering at Qumu Corporation from February 2021 to February 2023. In this role, they played a key role in shaping the company's strategy and leading a global team of 45 engineers. Stephen implemented processes to improve estimation accuracy and reduce unplanned work. Stephen also oversaw the development of innovative features resulting in Qumu's patent filing.

Before their time at Qumu Corporation, Stephen worked at UnitedHealth Group from 2016 to 2021. Stephen held two positions during their tenure at the company. First, they served as the Senior Director of Engineering from July 2018 to February 2021. In this role, Stephen led a team of 30 DevOps engineers and was responsible for building and operating a consumer identity management platform. Stephen also established controls and practices for engineering teams operating in private and public cloud environments. Additionally, Stephen held the position of Director of Enterprise Architecture from August 2016 to July 2018. In this role, they developed and executed application portfolio management plans and worked with business and technology partners to transform business strategy into technology strategy.

Prior to their time at UnitedHealth Group, Stephen served as the Vice President of Services at mobileAxept NA from April 2015 to August 2016. Stephen was responsible for all aspects of operations, including the maturation of service offerings and the establishment of scalable processes. Stephen achieved revenue growth and led the transition of IT infrastructure to public cloud, reducing hosting expenses.

Stephen's career also includes roles at Hill-Rom, Navicare Systems, and Ancept Inc, where they gained experience as a software engineer and consultant.

Stephen Klugherz completed their Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science at the University of St. Thomas from 1997 to 2001. Stephen later pursued an MBA in Strategy and Operations at the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management from 2004 to 2007.
