Stephen Dettor

Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Gravity

Stephen Dettor is a seasoned business executive with over 25 years of experience. Stephen is currently the Co-Founder and COO of GDECA (Gravity Data Engineering & Cloud Analytics). Prior to this role, Stephen was the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Gravity IT Resources from 2015 to 2021. From 2006 to 2015, Stephen served as President at 10-S Tennis Supply and Chief Operating Officer at Fast-Dry Courts, Inc., where they were responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations for a $5.5M recreational contractor, including marketing, sales, production, human capital management, IT and finance. During this time, they notably increased revenue by $1.5M and achieved channel bookings growth of 24% in 2003 and 25% in 2004. From 2002 to 2006, Stephen was the Director of Financial Solution Sales and Director of Channel Sales at Blackbaud, where they had P&L responsibility for a $4M business unit and managed a 6-person channel operations team and 4 Channel Sales Managers. Stephen notably increased channel partner locations from 25 to 97 over a two year period and launched the Blackbaud Sales Partner program. From 2001 to 2002, Stephen was the E-Commerce Channel Development Associate at DuPont and from 2000 to 2001, they were the Business Development Associate at Foodtrader.com, where they were responsible for various aspects of business development. During this time, they developed and refined the firm's value proposition to prospective venture capitalists, successfully raising $10MM+ second round financing, identified six attractive acquisition/merger candidates and initiated negotiations, and completed a strategic partnership with Yahoo! Inc. From 1994 to 2000, Stephen was the Director of Branch Operations at Fast-Dry Corporation, where they were responsible for retail and construction operations for a $1M Orlando Office. Stephen notably negotiated the acquisition of Tennis Sales, Inc., increased retail sales revenue by 27% in FY1997 and 18% in FY1998, managed 14 construction engagements valued at $2.5MM, and revised AR collection procedures, reducing average collection period (DSO) from 56.98 days to 38.71 days.

Stephen Dettor completed their high school diploma at Fort Lauderdale High School in 1990. Stephen then went on to earn a B.S. in Business Administration from Wake Forest University in 1994. In 2000, they completed their MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management at The Wharton School.
