David Unruh

Director of Federal CyberSecurity at Gray Analytics

David Unruh, CISSP, CEH, C, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. David currently works at Gray Analytics as the Director of Federal CyberSecurity, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Cyber Security Engineer at Gray Analytics from February 2020 to March 2022.

Before joining Gray Analytics, David worked at Raytheon from 2011 to 2020. At Raytheon, they served in various roles, including as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the EUCOM C2BMC program and as a BNOSC ISSO. David was responsible for ensuring the overall IA posture, providing IA oversight and guidance to multiple operating locations, and facilitating program guidance and oversight for PACOM CVT.

David's earlier experiences include working at the Missile Defense Agency, Schriever AFB, CO, from 2006 to 2011, where they served as the Government Operations Lead for the MDA CERT and as the NCOIC for Enterprise Network Operations. David led a team to provide network defense for the MDA enterprise and was responsible for IT asset management, contract oversight, and government chairmanship for IT Configuration Control Board.

Prior to this, they worked at the Air Force C2ISR Center, Langley AFB, VA, from 2003 to 2006 as the Lead System Administrator for Distributed Ground System/Experimental. David provided tasking, processing, exploiting, and disseminating related systems support and oversaw cross-domain security solutions.

David's earlier experiences also include working at the 4th Air Support Operations Squadron from 1999 to 2003 as the Systems Control Lead, at the 6th Communications Squadron from 1992 to 1999 as a System Security Technician, at Det 4, 1856th Communications Group from 1991 to 1992 as a Computer Systems Operator, and at the 2192nd Communications Squadron from 1988 to 1991 as a Mainframe Computer Operator.

Overall, David Unruh brings a wealth of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, network defense, system administration, and IT asset management to their current role as the Director of Federal CyberSecurity at Gray Analytics.

David Unruh obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Information Assurance and Security from Capella University, completing their studies in 2010.
