Site Project Manager at Gray

Jason McCarthy started their career in 2011 as an Erasmus Placement Student at UJF, where they learned PRO engineer wildfire and worked on projects involving reverse engineering. Jason then graduated from Cork Institute of Technology in 2012 with a 2.1 in Honours level Biomedical Engineering. From 2006 to 2012, they worked as a Sales Assistant at O'Donovans Off Licence, where they gained experience in customer service, stock management, and product knowledge.

In 2012, McCarthy joined Harvey Norman as a Senior Sales Representative, responsible for selling large kitchen appliances and managing purchase orders. Jason later became a Department Manager, overseeing stock ordering, merchandising, and customer service. Jason also dealt with faulty goods and refunds.

From 2015 to 2015, McCarthy took personal time to travel Central and South America, improving their Spanish and experiencing different cultures. In 2016, they joined DePuy Synthes Companies of Johnson & Johnson as a Production Associate, where they verified sigma line knee implants and ensured compliance with ISO and FDA standards.

McCarthy then worked at Boston Scientific as a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer, where they managed tooling processes and inventory. Jason later became a Manufacturing Engineer, responsible for new product launches and iterations in the Final Pack area. In 2020, they joined PepsiCo as a Project Engineer, managing multiple projects throughout the project lifecycle for various sites.

Since 2020, McCarthy has also owned JMC BioTech Contracting Solutions, a company that focuses on placing professionals in the Biotechnology, Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Device industries.

Currently, McCarthy works as a Site Project Manager for Gray Integrated Services Europe (GISE) in the Jameson Distillery, overseeing the planning and delivery of construction projects. Their responsibilities include ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Jason McCarthy attended Midleton College from 1998 to 2004, where they did not obtain a degree or specialize in any particular field of study. Later, from 2008 to 2012, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Munster Technological University. In November 2009, they also obtained an Intermediate level certification in Wine/Spirits Appreciation from WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust).
