Roberta Hood has extensive work experience in various roles related to people and culture, human resources, and organizational development. Roberta has been with Graybar Canada since 2015, initially starting as an Employee Relations Coordinator and eventually progressing to become the Vice President of People and Culture. Before Graybar, they worked at Shannex Incorporated, where they held positions such as Director of People and Organizational Development and Communications and Organizational Development Analyst. Additionally, they have served on the Board of Directors for the Healthy Minds Cooperative and the Canada Games Centre Halifax. Earlier in their career, they worked at Canada Post as a Human Resource Manager and at the Capital District Health Authority as a Senior Benefit and Payroll Analyst.
Roberta Hood has a diverse education history. Roberta attended Saint Mary's University and obtained a Commerce degree with a focus on HR/IR. In 2015, they attended Queen's University and completed a Workplace Mental Health Leadership Certificate within the Faculty of Health Sciences. Roberta also holds a Certified Professional Human Resources (CPHR) certification. Roberta later returned to Saint Mary's University and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, specializing in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration. In 2021, they pursued further education in diversity and inclusion, completing a Foundations in Diversity and Inclusion certificate at the Canadian Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Roberta also enrolled in the Diversity and Inclusion Influencer Program at the same institution. Additionally, Roberta obtained the CPHR designation from CPHR Nova Scotia in August 2022.
