Sophie Jacobs van Merlen

Sophie Jacobs van Merlen has a diverse work experience. Sophie is currently working as the Head of Agri-food and Health Practice at Grayling since October 2021. Prior to that, they were a PHD candidate at Université catholique de Louvain since June 2017. Sophie also worked as a Senior Consultant at Interel European Affairs from March 2007 to June 2017. Before that, they had a brief internship as a Berhneim stagiaire at the Belgian Permanent representation to the EU in 2006. Sophie also completed an internship as a Berheim Stagiaire at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from September 2005 to January 2006.

Sophie Jacobs van Merlen attended the Université Saint-Louis - Bruxelles from 1999 to 2001, where they completed a Bachelor's degree in both History and Political Science and Government. Sophie then pursued a Master's degree at the Université catholique de Louvain from 2001 to 2004, specializing in Political Science and Government. Additionally, during the same period, they studied History as well. In 2004, Sophie enrolled at the Institut d'Etudes Européenne (ULB) for a Master's degree in European Politics, completing their studies in 2005.
