Robotics Engineering Lead: Systems And Applications at GrayMatter Robotics

Ashish Kulkarni has a diverse work experience across various industries. Ashish is currently working as a Senior Robotics Systems and Applications Engineer at GrayMatter Robotics since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Southern California from 2019 to 2021, first as a Research Staff in the Center for Advanced Manufacturing and then as a Graduate Student Researcher. At USC, they contributed to projects such as robotic T-shirt manipulation and 3D printing with a robotic manipulator. Ashish also had the role of a Graduate Student Worker, operating a metal 3D printing machine.

Before their time at USC, Ashish worked as a Mentor and Co-Founder at Team Haya Off Roading from 2015 to 2020. Ashish played a significant role in designing suspension and steering components for All-Terrain Vehicles and participated in multiple competitions.

Additionally, Ashish worked as a Graduate Engineering Trainee at Bosch for a brief period in 2018, where they were involved in the production of fuel pump plungers and quality control monitoring. Ashish also had an internship at Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India in 2018, where they were a member of the Front-Dual Clutch Transmission team. Finally, they had a student internship at Mahindra Rise in 2017, where they worked on improving manufacturing defects in an automotive assembly line.

Ashish Kulkarni began their education at National Hill View Public School, where they completed their High School education from 2005 to 2012. Ashish then attended Deeksha Center for Learning PU College from 2012 to 2014 to pursue Pre-University studies. Later, they enrolled at PES University from 2014 to 2018 and earned a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Continuing their academic journey, Ashish pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Dynamics and Control at the University of Southern California from 2019 to 2020.

In addition to their formal education, Ashish has also obtained a certification in Robotics Software Engineering from Udacity in December 2020.
