Valerie Hawkins

Valerie Hawkins has extensive work experience in various leadership and human resources roles. Valerie is currently the Director of Learning and Development at Great American Insurance Group, starting in September 2021. Prior to this, Valerie held multiple positions at Fifth Third Bank, including Vice President, Director of Leadership Development from February 2020 to October 2021, Vice President, Manager of Leadership Development from July 2016 to February 2020, Vice President, Senior HR Business Partner for Tennessee from November 2014 to June 2016, and Vice President, Senior Learning Consultant for the CIO Division from December 2009 to November 2014. Valerie also worked as Assistant Vice President, Education & Process Manager for the Commercial Call Center from September 2007 to November 2009 and as an HR Business Partner for Central Operations from October 2005 to September 2007. Prior to their time at Fifth Third Bank, Valerie worked as an HR Business Partner at Chiquita Brands International from September 2000 to October 2005. Before that, they served as the Human Resources Manager at Holt Company of Ohio from 1998 to 2000 and as a Human Resources Generalist at Cintas from 1996 to 1998.

Valerie Hawkins holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Human Resources from Ohio University, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. In addition, they have earned certifications such as the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from the Society for Human Resource Management in January 2016, and the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the HR Certification Institute in July 2015.
