Jessie Thomson has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. They started their career as a Games Programmer at Canalside Studios, where they worked on projects using C#, actionscript, and XML. From 2012 to 2013, Jessie worked as a Sales Assistant at Game Retail Ltd. In 2016, they transitioned to become a Computer Vision Researcher at Cubic Motion. They then moved on to vTime in 2018, taking on the role of Animation Programmer until 2020. Jessie's next role was at Cloud Imperium Games as an Animation Programmer from 2020 to 2023. Currently, Jessie is working at Great Ape Games as an Animation Programmer. In addition to their professional work, Jessie also taught 2nd year BSc Computer Games Programming students part-time at The University of Huddersfield in 2017, focusing on game engine architecture using Unreal Engine.
Jessie Thomson received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Games Programming from The University of Huddersfield in the years 2008 to 2012. Following this, from 2012 to 2013, Jessie pursued a Master's Degree in Advanced Computer Science at The University of Manchester. From 2014 to 2016, Jessie continued their education at the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree specializing in Computer Vision.
