Sunil Kumar began their work experience in 1993 as a Marine Engineering Officer at The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited. Sunil worked their way up to the rank of Chief Engineer before leaving in 2003. Sunil then joined Det Norske Veritas as a Maritime Surveyor and Auditor, where they sailed on various oil tankers and conducted CAP surveys on behalf of the company. In 2005, Sunil joined GOL Offshore Limited as Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, holding various roles within the company. In 2017, they joined The Great Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd again, this time as CTO and Head of T&A.
Sunil Kumar completed their Management degree in Business Administration and Management from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2013. Prior to that, they graduated with a degree in Marine Engineering from the Marine Engineering And Research Institute in 1993. In addition to their formal education, Sunil Kumar has obtained various certifications, including training in virtual training, remote work, and speed reading, among others.
