Robert Schmidt has a vast amount of experience in various leadership roles within the medical and technology industries. Robert is the founder and chairman of Cleveland Medical Devices Inc., which develops and manufactures products for sleep disorders. Robert is also the founder, CEO, and chairman of Orbital Research Inc., which specializes in the development of a refreshable Braille display system. Additionally, Schmidt serves as the chairman and CEO of Great Lakes NeuroTechnologies Inc., which focuses on developing medical devices for movement disorders and electrophysiology. Robert is the founder, CEO, and chairman of NeuroWave Systems Inc., which develops EEG-based cortical devices. Robert is also the chairman and CEO of Flocel Inc., which sells an in-vitro test for the permeability of the Blood Brain Barrier. Schmidt is a founder and board member of FloTBI Inc., which aims to reduce unnecessary CT scans for head injuries. Robert has held various positions within the Small Business Technology Council and the National Small Business Association. Moreover, Schmidt has experience as the director of technology and program development at Life Systems Inc., where they worked on the development of medical equipment and devices. Prior to that, they served as a manager of licensing and technology development, project control manager, and project engineer at Davy McKee Corp.

Robert Schmidt's education history includes obtaining a JD in Patent Law from Cleveland State University - Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, which they attended from 1977 to 1981. Prior to that, they pursued an MBA in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from the University of Utah- School of Business from 1974 to 1975.

Robert also earned a Master of Science (MS) in Urban Environmental Studies from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they studied from 1970 to 1971. Before that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, obtaining a BS in Mechanical Engineering from 1966 to 1970.

Additionally, Robert briefly attended New York University in 1971 to study Business and Real Estate Law, though they did not obtain a degree. Robert also participated in the Inc. Inner City 100 Business Program at Harvard University, completing a 4-year program.

In terms of certifications, Robert has received several. These include being certified as an Attorney at Law by the Ohio Supreme Court in 1981, a Patent Attorney by the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 1985, and a Professional Engineer by the Ohio Engineers and Surveyors Board in 1975. Furthermore, they obtained the title of "Attorney at Law, US Supreme Court" from the US Supreme Court in 2009.
