Dr. Basem al-Matar

Dr. Basem Al-Matar has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Dr. Basem most recently worked as a Capital Project Engineer at Great Lakes Water Authority, where they provided project engineering and management support for water treatment plant projects. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Henry Ford College, where they delivered engaging lectures and communicated effectively with students. Dr. Al-Matar also worked as a Mechanical Engineering Consultant at Awtad Consult, Chief Technical Professional Engineer at KBR/Sadara Chemical Company, Sr. Technical Professional Engineer at KBR/Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (YASREF) Ltd., Vessel Mechanical Engineer at KBR (US), Senior Design Engineer at Baker Hughes Inc, and a Lab Engineer & Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Detroit Mercy/Wayne State University. Dr. Basem also worked as a Unit Mechanical Engineer at Saudi Aramco and an Inspection Engineer at SABIC, Ibn Zahr, Saudi Arabia. Throughout their career, Dr. Al-Matar has gained expertise in areas such as project management, technical support, mechanical engineering, teaching, and inspection.

Dr. Basem Al-Matar holds a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University, which they obtained in 2007. Prior to that, they completed their M.S in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2002. Their undergraduate degree, a B.S in Mechanical Engineering, was earned in 1997 from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.
