GIS Analyst at Great Lakes Water Authority

Joe Carl has extensive experience in the field of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) analysis. Joe currently works as a GIS Analyst at Great Lakes Water Authority since April 2020. Before that, Joe held the same role at Western Land Services Inc. from November 2016 to December 2018.

In addition to their work as a GIS Analyst, Joe has also worked as a Mapping Technician at Uber from September 2015 to June 2016.

Prior to their time at Uber, Joe worked at Western Land Services Inc. again, but this time as a GIS Specialist from March 2011 to August 2015. In this role, they handled lease analysis, managed multiple leasehold datasets, and developed and implemented Python scripts to improve efficiency on projects.

Before joining Western Land Services Inc., Joe worked at QC Data as a GIS Telecommunications Drafter from July 2010 to December 2010. Their responsibilities included updating GIS and CAD with field engineering drawings, work order posting, and GIS landbase management.

Joe's work experience also includes an internship at the Tourism Research Center, where they worked as a GIS Internship/Work Specialist from June 2009 to May 2010. Their tasks included maintaining and updating shapefiles based on evolving tourism signage and creating shapefiles for Ohiopyle State Park tourism destinations.

Joe Carl has a diverse education history. In 2006, they enrolled at PennWest California and pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geographic Information System. During the same period, they also studied Tourism Studies as a second major. Additionally, they completed a minor in Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Studies. Joe later attended Penn State World Campus in 2019, where they focused on Geospatial Programming and Web Development, specializing in GIS.
