Kyle Hines has a diverse work experience in the field of GIS and management. Kyle started their career as a Seasonal Field Technician at Mississippi State University in 2014, where they worked in remote locations, fixed vehicles, and converted databases. In 2015, they worked as a Riparian Area Technician for The Nature Conservancy, focusing on data gathering and equipment maintenance in Hiawatha National Forest. From 2016 to 2019, Kyle worked as a GIS Intern at Metroparks of the Toledo Area, where they digitized features and managed databases related to natural resources and land acquisition planning. During the same period, they also served as a GIS Specialist at Wood, producing figures and maps for clients and ensuring compliance with spatial data standards. In 2019, Kyle joined Great Lakes Water Authority as a GIS Analyst and later became a Management Professional, eventually transitioning to the role of Senior GIS Analyst in 2022.
Kyle Hines earned a Master of Science degree in Geographic Information Science from Eastern Michigan University from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology with an emphasis on Ecology from Northern Michigan University, completing this program from 2012 to 2015. In addition to their educational background, Kyle Hines has also obtained certifications in Effective Listening and Transitioning from Individual Contributor to Manager from LinkedIn in February 2020.
