Kathy Karns

Kathy Karns is a seasoned human resources professional with over 20 years of experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Great Minds since April 2021, Kathy's expertise lies in driving cultural change, improving staff engagement, and aligning HR strategies with organizational goals. Previously, at The College Board for more than two decades, Kathy held multiple senior positions, including Executive Director of Human Resources and Admin Services, where responsibilities included coaching leadership and optimizing HR systems to enhance talent acquisition and retention. Additional experience includes serving as an Executive Producer and Operations Manager at PBS, focusing on training program broadcasts and managing operations for a diverse team. Kathy holds an Associates of Applied Sciences degree in General Studies from Northern Virginia Community College.
