Anne Bulford

Anne was Deputy Director-General of the BBC, the first woman to hold this post, until Spring 2019. Prior to this, Anne’s executive roles included Channel 4’s Chief Operating Officer and Director of Finance and Business Affairs at the Royal Opera House. She is a Chartered Accountant.

Anne has held Trustee positions at BBC Children in Need and the Motor Neurone Disease Association. She has worked with Ofcom and the Ministry of Justice in non-executive roles and is currently a non- executive director of the news group Reach plc, KPMG and the Army Board. She is a Governor of the Royal Ballet and also a member of University College London’s Gift Acceptance committee, having previously served as Trustee and Honorary Treasurer of the University.

Anne was awarded the CBE in 2020 for services to broadcasting and charity, and the OBE in 2012 for services to broadcasting.
