David was appointed as a Trustee in May 2020.
David ran the Financial division of Thomson Reuters for ten years and became founding CEO of Refinitiv, one of the world’s largest data and technology companies, when he led the carve out of the division with Blackstone in 2018. He was previously CEO of the Governance, Risk and Compliance business, Chief Strategy Officer of Reuters plc and then Thomson Reuters where he led the integration following the acquisition of Reuters by Thomson in 2007.
David joined LSEG on completion of the Refinitiv-LSEG combination on 29th January 2021 as Group Head of Data and Analytics, and CEO Refinitiv, later to become senior advisor to LSEG.
Since June 2021 David has co-chaired the TNFD (Task Force on Nature Related Financial Disclosures) endorsed by the G7 and G20, funded by 7 governments working with over 300 corporate and financial institutions with over $18 trillion in Assets to design and implement a global risk management and disclosures framework for nature and bio-diversity.
David is an Executive Fellow at London Business School department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship focusing on data and technology, innovation and sustainability. David also co-chairs the UK-India Financial Partnership for TheCityUK, HMT and India Ministry of Finance.
Earlier in his career, David was a partner at McKinsey and Company, consulting to technology, media, governments and financial firms on data and technology strategy.
He is deeply involved in charitable and professional causes working to advance sustainable issues using data, including being a member of HRH Prince of Wales Sustainable Markets Initiative, founder and Chair of Urban Synergy Corporate Advisory Board helping young adults from diverse backgrounds into professional careers and member of both the Corporate Board and a Trustee of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
David holds a degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering from Bristol University. He has lived and worked in the US, Sweden, Spain Netherlands and is now based in the UK, London. Married with three children, In his spare time, he enjoys sailing, ski touring and coach’s youth Rugby at London Wasps.’
