Catherine Kemp is an experienced Program Manager at the Great Plains Institute since September 2022, with a strong background in climate resilience and urban planning. Prior roles include Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan Great Lakes Integrated Science and Assessments, where support was provided for the FloodWise Communities project, and Planning Intern at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, assisting with data analysis and community engagement for local planning initiatives. Additional experience as Special Assistant to the Mayor at the Municipality of Anchorage involved collaboration on the Anchorage Climate Action Plan, while serving as a Resilience AmeriCorps VISTA focused on community gardening initiatives enhanced food security. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Planning and a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Michigan and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, respectively.
