Steve Steichen, CPA, MBA has extensive work experience in accounting and finance. Steve currently serves as the Accounting Director at Great West Casualty Company since June 2022. Prior to this, Steve worked at UnitedHealth Group for 10 years, holding various roles including Director of Accounting, Manager, Accounting Consultant, Senior Accountant, and Accountant. In their role as Director of Accounting, they were responsible for the financial reporting process of six regulated health entities with approximately $8.8 billion in revenue. Steve managed a team of 16-18 individuals and oversaw compliance with accounting policies and regulations. Steve also has experience in process improvement, technical accounting, and building strong relationships with internal partners, auditors, and regulators. Steve began their career as an Accounting Intern at UnitedHealth Group in 2012.
Steve Steichen, CPA, MBA, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Saint John's University, which they obtained from 2009 to 2013. Steve is currently pursuing an MBA in Finance from LSU Shreveport, with an expected completion in 2023. In addition, they are a Certified Public Accountant, and received this certification from AICPA in December 2015.
